AI Software Engineer – Medical Imaging

Main tasks

  • Co-develop the full image processing pipeline for histopathology (segmentation and registration) – a working prototype is already in place
  • Stay up to date on the latest developments in AI for medical imaging, with a focus on segmentation and foundation models
  • Set up a professional software environment in Python (and possibly C++), including CI/CD, logging, unit tests, and regression tests
  • Set up an annotation environment using existing tools or by developing one in-house
  • Set up database infrastructure and implement quality checks and preprocessing routines

Other tasks

  • Help identify new business opportunities and join meetings with potential clients
  • Contribute wherever you would like to help XDMD succeed – from web design and maintaining the CRM system to writing technical roadmaps

Your profile

  • Excellent programming skills in Python and C++
  • PhD in medical image analysis or machine learning
  • Exceptional MSc candidates welcome
  • Open-minded, proactive, flexible, pragmatic
  • Bonus if you like sports and push your boundaries

Practical

  • This is a part-time position (minimum 0.6 FTE), with at least one day in Utrecht and one day in Eindhoven (on-site at client)
  • We will start with a 3-month contract, with the intention to extend to 9 – 12 months if there is a good mutual fit
  • You will start as a freelancer (ZZP’er), with the intention to transition to a permanent position as the company grows
  • Eligible to work in the Netherlands
